5. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin's treasured but business-tanking heel run in 2001 offered numerous bizarre pleasures - his gold-laden Two Man Power Trip run with Triple H allowed him to flex his gold in a way he'd not done despite multiple different opportunities to do so.

Austin had struck tag gold with Shawn Michaels/Dude Love and The Undertaker in 1997 and 1998 whilst holding the Intercontinental and WWE Title respectively, but was too ardent a babyface to bask in the glory. Alongside Triple H, he was at last permitted to use the prizes to mask his insecurities as a villainous sellout.
