When Alexa Bliss announced that the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions would be crowned inside the Elimination Chamber, it was the next step in the Women's Evolution. This was following the women making their Chamber match debut the year before.

The 12 women in this match filled this historic bout with as many exciting moments as possible that left fans wondering who would be the first ever champions. The IIconics played their role of cowardly villains perfectly, trying to avoid the structure and any danger at all. The Riott Squad were the plucky underdogs constantly fighting their way back into the match. Naomi was able to finally get her hands on Mandy Rose after weeks of avoiding the glow. Nia Jax and Tamina dominated much of the affair once they entered, until their aggression became their downfall.

All credit is due to the foursome of Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Sasha Banks and Bayley. Fire 'n' Desire and The Boss 'n' Hug Connection fought from start to finish of this match, showcasing the importance of the newly created championships.

Sasha and Bayley were the perfect choice as the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions, as they were the ones who had pushed for the creation of the belts for years. It was the cherry on top on an epic Elimination Chamber match.
