WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 Daniel Bryan

Coming into Elimination Chamber 2021, much of the participants in this match were a who’s who of all of Roman Reign’s biggest challengers since his return to WWE. He had spent the better part of a year dispatching Jey Uso, Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens, all whom wanted another shot at the champ.

With the exception of King Corbin, any of the five other competitors could have logically won here. Cesaro and Bryan set much of the pace, focusing on a great wrestling match without over utilizing the steel structure. Sami Zayn spent much of time avoiding his opponents like the plague, before being thrown from the top of a pod and eliminated by his former best friend Kevin Owens. Owens himself was arguably the favourite to win coming into the match, and brought much of the intensity for the affair until his elimination at the hands of Jey Uso. With a final two of Bryan and Uso, the leader of the Yes! Movement survived and pinned the Right Hand Man to surprisingly win his third Elimination Chamber.

What takes away from this match is that it was immediately followed up by Roman Reigns quickly defeating Bryan to retain his championship. Then Edge appeared, signalling his challenging of Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. While the storyline made sense, it devalued the effort put forth by all the competitors inside the Elimination Chamber.
