After two lackluster showings inside Elimination Chamber at the previous year's event, 2016 was the first time since its inception that there was not a Chamber match on WWE’s calendar. When it returned in 2017, the structure had been revamped to look sleeker and safer for the wrestlers involved.

Even with all the changes, this was the best version the Elimination Chamber has ever seen. All of the elements that would make a perfect Elimination Chamber were present here. AJ Styles was the iron man of the match flying around the ring from the moment the bell rang until being the last man eliminated. Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin recklessly destroyed their opponents and themselves, setting the stage for their impending rivalry. John Cena and The Miz were the only veterans of the Chamber and used that to their advantage, crafting an excellent story throughout this classic.

With all that in mind, the most important element to a match being looked back in such high regard is that the right man had their hand raised at the end. Bray Wyatt, who after years of being so close to breaking the proverbial glass ceiling, finally won his first WWE Championship. Eliminating both Cena and Styles cemented Wyatt at the top of WWE, and doing so inside the Elimination Chamber was the perfect place for this to happen.

Even with all of the safer modifications to the chamber structure, this was still the best match in the history of the Elimination Chamber.
