Countless suplexes and submissions from Benoit were met with trash can lids, a briefcase, and ultimately a brick at the hands of a conniving Edge.

Notable moments included a huge German suplex from atop the ladder, which is almost difficult to watch given the way Edge’s career ended, as well as a missed diving headbutt from the very same ladder, which itself is even more difficult to watch given the revelations in the aftermath of the Benoit tragedy.

Still, these guys laid it all on the line and in doing so stole the show in a match that proved you don’t necessarily need blood to make a Last Man Standing match a success.
