Every WWE Money In The Bank Winner Ranked Worst to Best
14. Jack Swagger (2010)
Poor Swagger. Poor, poor Swagger.
One of the most absurd bits of trivia is certainly the All-American American was a former World Heavyweight Champion. Swagger won the final Money in the Bank match held at WrestleMania, and he would cash in on Chris Jericho on SmackDown two days later. Apart from his abysmal booking (racking up a 5-12 win-loss record as champion), Swagger was hobbled by his inability to carry himself on the mic.
Regardless of your thoughts on wrestling vs. “sports entertainment” and what are the qualities that should make someone champion, the fact is: in modern WWE, if you seem petrified to talk in front of crowds, you’re going to have a bad time as a world champion.
And Swagger did have a bad time. After two pay-per-view defenses (one of which he lost by DQ), Swagger dropped the belt to Rey Mysterio at the Fatal-4-Way show, and quickly fell down the card from there. While he would have a brief flirtation with the World Heavyweight Championship in 2013 with a new xenophobe gimmick, wellness policy violations and a lack of improvement on the mic kept Swagger on the bottom rung throughout the rest of his tenure. He would request his release from the company earlier this year.
Again, poor Swagger. Poor, poor Swagger.
