Every WWE Raw Opening Theme Song Ranked From Worst To Best
Which of the red brand’s themes stood tall - and which faded into obscurity?
Monday Night Raw is an undeniable staple of both the wrestling world and television itself. Kicking off nearly 28 years ago, WWE's "longest running weekly episodic television show in history" ushered in a new era for the company back in January 1993 and, in many ways, shaped the future of professional wrestling.
Billed as WWE's flagship show, the red brand became its primary form of weekly programming because it was much edgier than earlier shows like Superstars, Wrestling Challenge and Prime Time Wrestling. One of the things that helped Raw stand out was its overall presentation and a large part of that was its opening theme.
Like WWE itself, Raw's opening theme has evolved with the times, changing to match the tone of each respective era and attempting to encapsulate what said eras were all about. Though not all of them were great, they have all earned a place in history.
With that in mind (and the fact that the recent season premiere introduced us to a new one), let's take a look back at all of the red brand's themes - and, while we're at it, rank them.
14. 'The Search' By NF
Used: October 19, 2020 – present
After finally reinventing itself with a number of solid opening themes, Raw has landed back in the conflicting territory with its newest intro. Now 'The Search' by NF is a great rap song in its own right, but it doesn’t feel like it fits as the Raw opener.
It's not nearly - for lack of a better term - rocky enough for the show it's representing. Instead of building towards a crescendo, it very much spends all of its 30-plus seconds in the same place and it just doesn't feel like it goes with the opening graphics designed for it.
It's a shame because some of the post-2016-draft themes had real promise when it came to restoring Raw's edgy image. This, however, takes it back to the mid-2010s when the product had no idea what it wanted to be.
