46. Sonjay Dutt

Then: Former TNA stalwart Sonjay Dutt wasn't really brought into WWE to wrestle classics or even really wrestle at all. Nah, Dutt was hired as a producer who could help others put together matches. That was a role he filled proudly for 2 years between 2019-2021.

It might not have been how Sonjay viewed his first gig with WWE panning out, but he had a wealth of experience to impart on those around him and worked hard to do so until he was let go from his deal in June 2021.

We'll be moving on from the June departures soon enough, don't worry!

Now: Only 24 hours had passed before Sonjay's arrival in AEW was announced. He officially joined the promotion on 30 June, and had only confirmed his WWE exit on 29 June. Talk about a whirlwind day for the man - this was something else. Originally, Dutt agreed to do pretty much the same job for All Elite that he'd been doing for the E.

That producer role quickly blossomed into something bigger. He started appearing on screen as a manager for the likes of Jay Lethal (whom he'd feuded with a lot in the vintage TNA days) and newcomer Satnam Singh. Dutt did end up working 2 matches in AEW though.

Firstly, he teamed with Lethal and Singh vs. Best Friends on the 29 July 2022 Rampage. Then, he worked another 8-man tag effort on the 15 February 2023 episode of Dynamite. Promos and backstage work have been Sonjay's bread and butter, right enough.
