Then: Jeff Hardy's entire career has been blighted by controversy. His personal demons and battles against substance abuse are well known, but there wasn't much sympathy for Jeff when he reportedly walked out on a WWE show in December 2021. A few days later, it was confirmed that Hardy's contract had been terminated.

It was a bitter end. Again.

Now: Jeff made a lot of noise about his wish to sign for AEW so he could wrestle with his brother Matt again. In March 2022, he debuted on All Elite programming and The Hardys were back in the saddle. Their AEW run was hyped beyond belief, but the siblings were realistically never going to be able to turn the clock back to their collective prime as a duo.

Their matches flattered to deceive, so it's somewhat remarkable that things have gone so well since the brothers left AEW and started working for TNA. On the whole, including their WWE comeback cameos between February-October 2025, Jeff and Matt have looked great out there.

Thankfully, things have been quieter on the personal strife front for Jeff. Long may that continue, because he's a real credit to the pro wrestling industry when he's sober or isn't getting into trouble with police. If that persists, then there's certainly no reason why WWE wouldn't be interested in a few more guest spots for The Hardys.

AEW was a bit of a popcorn fart for Jeff, being real, but TNA/this WWE reprise has been a blessing. It's what his fanbase (people who have stuck by him through thick and thin) deserves.
