Botchamania fans may recall that Steve Ringmaster Austin was supposed to be in the final four of this match, but accidentally slipped off the apron during what was supposed to be a near-elimination. That would have retroactively boosted the star power of this quartet, but what we actually got ain't chopped liver. Davey Boy was a constant main event threat, Diesel was coming off the longest WWE Championship reign in years, Kama was being booked as a rival to the Undertaker, and Shawn was Shawn. The finish is good too, with HBK definitively leveling up into a main eventer by eliminating Diesel, his onetime sidekick and the man who brought his WrestleMania dreams down in flames a year prior.
