Every WWE Royal Rumble 'Final Four' - From Worst To Best
7. 2016 - Sheamus, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Triple H
Three quarters of this years final four were former WWE Champions AND Rumble Winners, with eternal also-ran Dean Ambrose thrown in for good measure. Going into the show, I had been positive that everything would come down to Triple H and Roman Reigns, and apparently everyone live at the Amway Center was with me; when Hunter eliminated Reigns, the entire place came alive for Ambrose. The glimmer of hope of something new and exciting in the main event can add a lot to a Rumble. It can really feel as though a performer is battling through the entire roster to break out and shine with a new kind of light, but that concept has been lost in recent years. Since Money In The Bank became the favored method of elevating new stars, the Rumble has become the domain of established stars and repeat winners. In fact, had we gotten the widely-expected final two of Reigns and Triple H, it would have been two established stars fighting to BE a repeat winner. Ambrose looked for all the world like he was poised to save us from that tedium, and even though he lost, he sure seems to have a new kind of shine to him lately, doesn't he?
