Every WWE SmackDown LIVE Champion Ranked From Worst To Best
20. Jinder Mahal
WWE Champion (1x), WWE United States Champion (1x)
If you think the land of opportunity was just a cute little catchphrase, you can start thinking again!
A little over a month after being the lowest of jobbers on RAW, Jinder got drafted to SmackDown and quickly found himself with the WWE Championship in his hands after a victory over Randy Orton at Backlash.
In a title change motivated entirely by a cynical desire to break into the Indian market, Jinder carried the gold for what felt like 20 years, defeating Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura on numerous PPVs along the way, before finally losing to AJ Styles on a random episode of SmackDown in Manchester.
JBL carried the thing for almost a year but at least it's because they wanted to make a star out of John Cena in the end. Here, everything just felt so weird...
He'd eventually win the United States Championship at WrestleMania 34 from Randy Orton (who else), being drafted to RAW as champion the next week where he'd lose the belt to Jeff Hardy on his first night.
And then he went back to being a jobber.
