This is one of the most underrated reigns in the belt’s history, a solid title run that existed only to keep the division afloat after an injury. It’s arguably the most successful transitional reign in the championship's history, with Bliss taking up the mantle of Smackdown’s top woman in the aftermath, making the division feel important with solid TV matches and good promos during Naomi’s absence, and putting over the “real champion” clean at Mania.

It wasn’t the most noteworthy and existed as a desperation tool to keep Naomi and the other women over during a disastrous time, and Bliss fulfilled her role perfectly, showing herself as a reliable worker and top champion during times of doubt. It’s reminiscent of Kurt Angle’s early 2006 title run, where he was trusted to keep his show and title scene afloat as a reliable top guy until another could be effectively crowned.

While reigns like these will never be the most acclaimed, they’re often crucial in times of injury, and Bliss deserves her credit for how well she did in a role that shouldn’t have been needed. It was likely one of the signs from management that Alexa was capable of a top spot on Raw, leading to her dominance of that division in the year that followed.
