Imperium formed on the 22 May 2019 episode of NXT UK, when Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel (then known as the European Union) interfered to thwart Pete Dunne’s attempt to recapture the NXT UK Championship from WALTER.
The faction is a force of intimidation and domination expressed through pure brute strength, making them natural heels. The trio leave their opponents looking legitimately devastated and destroyed, standing over the fallen with a still yet eerie type of dignity.
The alliance works best by holding up WALTER as the brand’s brutal and domineering champion with Aichner and Barthel on hand to provide variety and flavour to his feuds. Since losing their titles to Breezango, the two have floundered, causing WALTER to give in to pandemic restrictions use Zoom to reprimand his allies from an iPad.
