Well, it's better than the first one, so that's something, right? Talented horror filmmakers the Soska Sisters inject some of their demented style and personality into what's mostly more generic slasher fare, and horror legends Danielle Harris and Katharine Isabelle certainly don't hurt proceedings.

Still, the kills are surprising tame and there's very little to distinguish this from what came before: it's more of the same, just better-acted and certainly better-looking. Kane doesn't get much chance to shine, it takes far, far too long to get going, and ultimately how many people really ever wanted this sequel, especially eight years after the original did mediocre business?
