WWE Studios distributed the directorial debut of Game of Thrones' Jason Momoa, who also wrote, produced and starred in this low-budget dramatic thriller.

Proving the benefit of going into a movie with no expectations or preconceptions whatsoever, Road to Paloma is an unassuming film that nevertheless creates a terrific atmosphere thanks to gorgeous cinematography, lush rural landscapes and great music.

Somehow the film's budget just barely crossed $500,000, when it looks much crisper than the majority of the movies on this list, which evidently cost several times more. It may disappoint those expecting an action-packed slug-fest, but Momoa smartly opts for something much more thoughtful and intriguing.
