One of WWE Studios' biggest successes (making almost 10x its $5 million budget), Oculus marked horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan's first venture into Hollywood, and the results were devilishly entertaining.

Karen Gillan leads a talented cast who face off against a deadly antique mirror, but believe that the film is much more interesting than that synopsis suggests.

Flanagan does a terrific job wringing tension out of just about every scene, leading to some unexpected twists in the third act, which undeniably set things up for a potential franchise, which strangely has yet to surface.

Many of the WWE's movies simply feel like bad decisions, but given the masses of money that could be made with future installments here, this is easily one of their smartest calls to date.
