As far as SummerSlam matches go, this one is pretty confusing. Three heels fought over Umaga's Intercontinental Championship, with the Samoan Bulldozer turning de facto babyface for one night only. Heel vs. heel matches very rarely work, and an all-heel triple threat is a recipe for apathy if ever there was one.

These three weren't exactly world-beaters in the ring either, and it is saying something when Carlito is the most motivated individual in a match. It is the former WWE Tag Team Champion's high-flying offence that ultimately saves this bout, however, as the Cool One flies around bouncing off his larger opponents.

Umaga picks up the win after jamming his thumb into the throat of Mr. Kennedy, and he went back to being a full heel immediately afterwards. Was Jeff Hardy suspended or something?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
