Every WWE To AEW Defection Ranked From Worst To Best
9. Paul Wight
In February of this year, Paul Wight shocked the wrestling world when it was announced he was AEW-bound to wrestle on occasion, believing he had a lot left to give wrestling - which was evident from the incredible shape he had gotten himself into in recent years - as well as provide commentary alongside Tony Schiavone for their new YouTube series AEW Dark: Elevation.
Prior to debuting with AEW, the former Big Show was used as just another legend whenever he would infrequently appear on WWE television to put over current talent, like Randy Orton choking him on Raw in January. Wight only signed in February, so you can’t judge him on what he’s done so far with the company, but for potential alone, AEW singing him is intriguing.
Show has years of wrestling knowledge under his belt, having worked for WCW for four years and WWE for over 20, which he can instil in younger talent on the AEW roster.Wight has commented on his signing:
“It’s so invigorating. It’s like getting a blood transfusion I would have to say. I feel like a young kid all over again. I can’t wait to get out there and do my job, and then lace up my boots and get to perform with these athletes and get to know them.”
