Every WWE To AEW Defection Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Dustin Rhodes
Dustin Rhodes has a story in wrestling like no other.
He’s a journeyman who has competed in nearly every wrestling promotion you can think of multiple times under multiple different gimmicks. His story continued in March 2019 when he left WWE and his Goldust character behind after six years of continued service for a multi-year deal with AEW where he would work as a wrestler and coach. It was first revealed he would square off against his brother Cody at Double or Nothing, the inaugural pay-per-view for AEW.
They had a five star match at the event that took fans on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout. Things went downhill though when he was unfortunately involved in the viral moment of a member of the Dark Order not connecting his cringeworthy punches on him when they beat Dustin and The Elite down on an episode of Dynamite. Dustin has spent most of his time on AEW screens teaming with QT Marshall as The Natural Nightmares. He has been used more prominently behind the scenes than on TV, teaching his knowledge and guidance to newer talent getting accustomed to wrestling on national television for the first time in their young careers.
But make no mistake: you should never overlook Dustin Rhodes for how good he can still go in the ring after years of taking bumps and at the ripe old age of 51.
