Every WWE Tough Enough Winner: Where Are They Now?

2. Josh Bredl (2015)

Then: WWE had one more go at Tough Enough in 2015. The 6th season is best-known for producing Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Chelsea Green and The Velveteen Dream, but none of those names were given the nod as winners. It was actually Josh Bredl who took the winner's purse home with him, as well as a guaranteed 12 month contract with the market leader.

People watching spoke in glowing terms about Bredl's upside. He had a great look, plenty of personality, and he seemed like he could be shaped into a creditable part of the roster. Then, in 2016, Josh tweeted that lower-card faction The Social Outcasts were actually "Social Jobbers".

That did not go down well with several workers on the roster, including Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. Yikes. Bredl was released in 2017, and there's no doubt that all the backstage drama worked against him.

Now: The fact that Josh worked his last recorded wrestling match in 2016 before his WWE release came speaks volumes. That was against someone you might've totally forgotten about: Dan Matha. Y'know, the guy who bizarrely bagged a spot in the 50-man (and so-called) Greatest Royal Rumble over in Saudi Arabia in 2018.

Like Andy Leavine, Bredl appeared on 'Developmentally Speaking' and revealed that he'd be happy to wrestle again someday but had to get life-saving surgery years after leaving WWE behind. Since then, he's switched up his diet to go vegan and hasn't looked back.

In an interesting moment, when talking about taking bumps, he said: "I punched my bump card way too much just in Tough Enough alone...for nobody".
