Really though, there's no beating arguably the greatest main event in WrestleMania history.

The battle between The Rock and Steve Austin at the 15th show was good but wasn't anything ground-breaking. Two years later, they were back in the main event and ready to tear the roof off, with all the weapon mayhem that the Attitude Era was famous for.

Austin felt his gimmick was growing stale by 2001 and threw everything he thought he had left into this match. As with their previous match, The Rock was WWE Champion going into X-Seven. Unlike then, where it was a more equal affair, Austin went guns blazing and didn't let up for the entire match. Fists flying, Stunners dished out, he wasn't interested in technical ability, he just wanted to bludgeon the Brahma Bull and take his title, as he did 2 years prior.

What pushes the match into legendary status was the ending, when Mr. McMahon appeared seemingly to aid the Rock, but instead handed a steel chair to Austin, who proceeded to destroy his opponant with shot after shot in one of the most shocking heel turns in WWE history cemented by a handshake between Stone Cold and his mortal enemy.

With that, the Attitude Era was over, and following a truly phenomenal match, nothing would ever be the same again.
