EVERYTHING Vince McMahon Gave Up On In 2020 (So Far)
10. The NXT Women's Roster
NXT has one of the greatest women's divisions in the entire industry and, in Rhea Ripley, they had one of the most over champions too. Built-up naturally in some great matches like the inaugural women's War Games match, and brilliantly showing herself to the world during the lead up to and the interbrand match of Survivor Series, Rhea had the entire NXT universe behind her when she finally beat won the championship.
But with AEW airing opposite NXT and routinely beating them in the ratings, Vince has taken the hands-on approach many fans feared he would. Charlotte Flair beat Rhea in their WrestleMania battle, taking the NXT Women's Championship and being placed on NXT at the top of the women's division.
While the title was soon dropped to Io Shirai so that Charlotte could get some much-needed surgery, this was the Brock Lesnar approach; moving a big name in to get short term profit at the expense of every rising star meant to take the company into the future. Once developmental, NXT was now training the stars of today to run roughshod over those who will never be allowed to be the stars of tomorrow.
