EVERYTHING Vince McMahon Gave Up On In 2020 (So Far)

11. The Universal Championship

The only good thing about The Fiend walking out of (technically he teleported out) Saudi Arabia without the Universal Title is that when Roman Reigns challenged for it at WrestleMania, he would be retiring Goldberg rather than risking crowd heat by taking the title away from the ridiculously over Wyatt.

Except it wasn't Roman challenging, as he pulled out due to concerns about his pre-existing conditions in the new health climate. Instead, Braun Strowman faced Goldberg in a truly terrible match. Four spears saw Bill get a two-count on Strowman, then four running powerslams got Braun the three and the belt. Those few minutes of finishing moves were the entire match.

We all know the septuagenarian who booked this is the same person who booked the original squash match that put the title on Goldberg. The Universal Championship, already diminished by extended part-timer and absentee reigns and abdications, now had any remaining shreds of legitimacy destroyed. Even those wearing kayfabe-coloured glasses are going to have a hard time believing anyone would care to fight for this strap now.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
