An Emergency Medical Technician earns significantly less money than a doctor or surgeon, owing to the level of training and knowledge required for the role, but they still experience the trauma of watching people nearly die or actually die in front of them. They still administer life-saving treatment. They still, in the best-case scenario, provide the ultimate gift of life to the loved ones of victims of violent crimes and horrifying accidents.

EMTs do the job they do not for the money, but because they want to do good and are brave enough to put themselves forward to do it. There aren’t many heroes around. They absolutely meet the definition. On January 23, 2000, one of those heroes ventured into a place more chaotic and intense than even they were used to: World Championship Wrestling.

There, the most crazy of all the pro wrestling lunatics assaulted them, but in defence of Scott Steiner, he thought that WCW had hired a few indie guys to dress up as EMTs for an angle because that’s what tends to happen. Nope: Steiner was arrested when one of the shoot medical professionals pressed charges. It was absolutely the responsibility of WCW to make this explicitly clear - especially when Steiner was so volatile and prone to lashing out. Steiner was the last wrestler you would not tell, in fact. WCW basically threw a fox wearing chainmail into a henhouse.

If you have a very twisted sense of humour, you might find it amusing that Scott Steiner physically attacked one of the people on the planet least deserving of a kicking.
