Matt Riddle showed up as a surprise fill-in tag-team partner for Zachary Wentz and Kushida at TNA's Turning Point 2024 event on Friday night. The ex-WWE star replaced Trey Miguel for the night, but his squad ultimately lost out to The Hardys and Ace Austin in a six-man tag bout.

This caps off a busy 2024 for the former RK-Bro man (his old team with Randy Orton). Previously, he'd won then lost New Japan's Television Title, and has also competed extensively across the independent wrestling scene. Riddle even found time to tangle with current Bloodline member Jacob Fatu in a match taped for MLW in January.

Nobody knew then what lay in wait for Fatu. He's since become a linchpin on episodes of SmackDown. Meanwhile, Riddle has strived to rebuild his career after a controversial stretch that included allegations of sexual assault in 2020. Those charges were later dropped in July 2021.

It's unclear at press time whether or not this is the start of a full time run for Riddle in TNA.

Riddle Left WWE In September 2023

Riddle left WWE in September 2023. That surprised some, but (by his own admission) he'd become a nuisance to upper management. Even so, there was a time when most considered Matt a future World Champion in the promotion. Some on socials guess that there's a road back to WWE now that Riddle's in TNA, but that's obviously conjecture more than anything.

Nothing is nailed on just yet.

Stay tuned to TNA's official X account for any further announcements, if they're incoming, on Riddle's future plans with the company.
