2. Chris Jericho's Creative Annoyance

There was no hotter program in pro wrestling heading into WrestleMania 33 than Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens. The former friends had turned to enemies, and their angle was big enough to earn one of WrestleMania 33's top spots. Vince McMahon disagreed, so he had Goldberg return to beat KO for the Universal Title and move on to a feud with Brock Lesnar.

Jericho and Owens were relegated to squabbling over the relatively meaningless US belt.

This demotion caused Y2J's head to spin. He told talkSPORT years later that he decided to leave WWE behind (at least for a while) after this blatant slap in the face. McMahon placed Jericho vs. KO second on the main card in Orlando, then criticised both men for their performance to boot. It was all too much for 'Le Champion' to bear as he walked down the aisle.

The Canadian legend couldn't fathom why WWE had taken such a powerful story and turned it into just another match on an already-packed 'Mania show. They were lost in the shuffle next to other throwaway title matches, and Jericho hated it.
