Fantasy-Booking A WWE G1 Climax
3. The Final Standings
Block A: 12 Points - Nakamura; Lesnar; Reigns. 10 Points - Orton; Joe. 8 Points - Ambrose; Wyatt. 6 Points - Zayn; Ziggler. 4 Points - Rusev.
A final-day slobberknocker sees Lesnar cut down Reigns' hopes of making it to the finals. Instead, Shinsuke Nakamura, having captured a win over both Lesnar and Reigns, punches his ticket. Joe, Ambrose and Zayn all turn in performances that indicate they will have even more success in future tournaments, while Handsome Rusev takes the bottom spot in the block.
Block B: 12 Points - Rollins; Strowman. 11 Points - Cena; Styles. 10 Points - Mahal; Bálor. 8 Points - Owens; Corbin. 4 Points - Cesaro; The Miz.
Inspired by last year's G1, a final-day draw between Cena and Styles negates both of them from making it to the final stage, allowing another competitor to sneak through. That man is Seth Rollins, who somehow managed to stop Strowman in his tracks.
In true G1 fashion, the champions take block losses in order to indicate who may get a title shot down the line. Both Orton and Samoa Joe were able to avenge their losses to Lesnar, while Jinder fell to Cena, Styles, Rollins and Strowman. The Maharaja will certainly have some title-defending to do post-tournament.
