Former Champion Returns On WWE NXT After 5 Months Out

Out for almost half a year, one of NXT's missing stars returned last night.

Danny Burch is back in NXT.

The former Tag Team Champion returned after five months on the shelf during last night's show, aligning with Ridge Holland, Oney Lorcan, and Pete Dunne in the process.

This came after Holland had defeated Timothy Thatcher in the night's opener. Thatcher's tag team partner, Tommaso Ciampa, was at ringside, and became embroiled in a brawl with the heels after checking on his ally after the bell. Though he initially controlled Dunne and Holland, Burch came out with Lorcan to overwhelm the former NXT Champion, who was eventually put down by a Holland headbutt.

Burch had been out of action since March, when he suffered a serious shoulder injury while he and Lorcan were wrestling Karrion Kross and Finn Balor. This meant he and Oney were made to relinquish the NXT Tag Team Championships they had taken from Breezango back in October 2020.

A promo later in the show saw Lorcan and Burch make a claim for the Tag Team Titles, so it's safe to assume they'll be going after champions MSK before long. They also appear to be progressing in this stable with Holland and Dunne at the same time.
