Williams, born 1966 in West Chester, PA, was an itinerant veteran of the independent scene. Having been tutored by the Rock 'n' Roll Express, he began his career in Philadelphia-based Tri-State Wrestling Alliance. He left the company when it went bankrupt in 1991, returning in 1993 when it did under its new guise of Eastern Championship Wrestling - the forerunner to ECW.

After leaving ECW in 1995, Rebel pursued a journeyman career, appearing in dozens of promotions including 3PW, WXW, and CZW. At the time of his death, he was still infrequently active in the ring.
