Could this former titleholder be on WWE's Hall Of Fame shortlist any time soon?

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Marc Mero has spoken about a possible Hall Of Fame Induction nearly 25 years on from his last appearance with the company.

Speaking to Wrestlingnews.co (h/t WrestlingInc), he said;

"If I am or if I'm not, it changes nothing in my life. I'll be doing the same thing I love doing. It's great to be honored for something that you enjoy doing... Someone like me or Dallas [Diamond Page] should be considered for the Warrior Award...like go out there and do something for the community...I've only hoped that WWE would have seen the connection we could have had with school programs to inspire students together."

Mero added that he'd be glad of Page to induct him too, adding that "He knows me better than most people do."

The former 'Wildman' won WWE's secondary strap in September 1996, having debuted the same year in a WrestleMania brawl with Triple H. A return from injury in late-1997 brought about a reinvention as a 'Marvellous' former Golden Gloves boxer, but success in the gimmick was relatively short-lived. As real life wife Sable shot to stardom away from their pairing, Mero faded into the background before wrestling his last match for the company at Capital Carnage in December 1998.
