While Debbie was one of the stars of Season 1, this time she becomes the star. Debbie is the focal point of the series, with Liberty Belle as the face of the show too.

Betty Gilpin handles both of these facets, and the added responsibility, brilliantly. She lends weight and pathos when the show decides to get really serious, helping to make the emotional moments really land with a wallop, and it's particularly electric whenever she shares the screen with Alison Brie. In the lighter moments too, though, she's great, and capable of delivering a withering put-down (or just doing it with a look) that stand among the show's funniest moments.
