GLOW Season 2 Review: 7 Ups And 1 Down

1. The Ensemble Is Slightly Wasted

GLOW Season 2
Netflix

If there's a quibble with this season, it's that the show hasn't yet figured out how to balance its considerable ensemble.

The show has a lot of characters, something it even references itself when it struggles to find a place for everyone on the show-within-a-show. But while the performances are all uniformly excellent, it doesn't make room to flesh out each individual in the way, say, Orange is the New Black has.

Outside of the big three, Welfare Queen gets a good but brief arc, and so too does Jenny - although it's intertwined with Sam's - but the rest, while still enjoyable to watch, are left surface-deep only, known only for a couple of character quirks without much else to go on.
