Headlocked Comic Creator Michael Kingston Interview: Wrestling Comics, Creative Wrestlers & More

Do you have a bucket list so to speak of people you want to collaborate with on future projects?

Kingston: There's a lot of people. Bray Wyatt, obviously, is someone I'd love to work with. Xavier Woods, any of the New Day guys. I think Carmella is a fascinating person. I think she's super creative and she doesn't really get the credit. She's had like seven different iterations of her and they pair her with people all the time and she always adapts to their gimmicks but never loses the core of who she is as a character. I think that's a real impressive thing she doesn't get credit for. I think she'd be super fun to collaborate with. Bayley is probably really creative. Edge and I have talked about doing stuff for a long time, so he's definitely someone I want to work with.

Sometimes the story hit you the right way. I did a story with Sgt. Slaughter and the right story hit at the right time and sometimes you're kicking around ideas and it hits you. I always wanted to make a cool wrestling comic. Now, to be able to collaborate with people I watched growing up and some of these people are my best friends, it's just the wildest thing to me. If it all ended tomorrow, I did a lot of cool stuff. I want to keep it going as long as people will let me play in the space.
