How AEW Made Me Love Wrestling Again

1. Remembering What This Used To Feel Like

There's a great line from Jon Moxley while he's guesting on Brandi Rhodes' cooking show A Shot of Brandi, where he's discussing why so many people stopped watching wrestling over the years.

He talks about that lapsed fan who would reminisce about how great WWF or WWE was "back in the day", and without mentioning them by name, Moxley agrees that WWE got "stale", "goofy" and "boring", saying it made you feel "stupid" watching it.

He finishes by saying that "deep down" for anyone like that, there's always remained a wrestling fan. It's testament to how much drive surrounds AEW right now, that all those fans are being reawakened and plugged back into a weekly wrestling show that knows EXACTLY what its audience wants.

AEW feels impressive and confident. Its roster feels like a group of creative, athletic individuals putting on a show for the masses where the core drive is to entertain and make memories.

I've gotten more talking points from the last few weeks' worth of Dynamite, Rampage and especially All Out than I have in a decade of dipping back into WWE.

That in itself speaks to a hot streak that's only going to continue rolling out, and if a CM Punk, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole combo got us through the door, I cannot wait to see what else is coming.
