How AEW’s Secret Weapon Must Return

Death Triangle could reform in full after the match, leading to a trios war against what remains of the Family. Or, PAC and Fénix could embark on a push towards the AEW Tag Team Titles. PAC and Fénix, 2 and 0, could then take on FTR in the event that they relinquish the titles to the Young Bucks at Full Gear. This would fire them up the rankings. The match itself could be fantastic, but FTR have somewhat struggled to mesh against teams they are stylistically worlds apart from.

This is less than ideal, given the rich narrative potential their throwback act offers in itself. But it is what it is, sadly: FTR have only proven themselves exceptional when more rugged or sympathetic competition stands on the opposite side of the apron (SCU, Jungle Boy).

Besides which, should the Bucks triumph at Full Gear, this allows Matt and Nick Jackson to reimagine the division in their image as the culmination of their initial AEW arc.

Without repeating the superb if long Bucks Vs. Lucha Bros. feud of 2019, there can be no better celebration of their winning philosophy than PAC and Fénix Vs. the Young Bucks at Revolution 2021. It is the perfect match to showcase the evolution of tag team wrestling that the Bucks hold so dearly and, in this timeline, have realised: a heart-pounding display of pro wrestling so exciting that it would generate 'Holy sh*t!' chants for almost the entire duration. And if the person chanting that is Austin Gunn, f*ck it: it would still be one of the greatest tag team matches of all time, or at least of a generation.
