How Good Was Brock Lesnar Actually?

Brock Lesnar is a cyborg-like killing machine. To extend the range of that ethos would be to dilute its impact. If you’re looking for a diverse range of approaches to pro wrestling, then Lesnar is not 'The Beast' you're looking for.

One of Brock's best-selling t-shirts says: ‘Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat.’ It’s fitting, because whether he is a face or a heel that is Brock’s MO. He's here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and you ain’t ever seen Brock Lesnar chewing on some Hubba Bubba.

One of the things that works when analysing Heyman in Brock's corner is that Lesnar is tailor-made to feel like a monster being led out of his pit on a leash to destroy WWE’s next leading contender. He’s a man of actions and not words, and that limits him when it comes to range.

There isn’t a litany of different character changes and looks when it comes to Brock. He's simply a walking spectacle and has been used in pretty much the same way from his time as 'The Next Big Thing' in 2002 to what appears to be his current farewell run in 2026.
