How WWE Can Finally Kill The Post-WrestleMania Curse
As a method of elevating Roman to the level of undoubted box office super attraction, double strapping The Head of the Table did make a decent amount of sense heading into WrestleMania 38. But about a month later, it soon became clear that having a borderline part-time Bloodline leader as the one and only male world title holder in the company wasn't the most well thought-out booking call.
Splitting the Universal and WWE Championships back up has been fantasy booked to death ever since, of course. And should Cody Rhodes topple Reigns in L.A. - as he bloody well needs to! - then there'd likely never be a more suitable time than the night after the Show of Shows, or honourable character, to set this all-important change-up in motion.
The American Nightmare clearly needs to finish the story, one that involves him holding onto the illustrious WWE Championship his father sadly never lifted.
Having a suited and booted newest face of the company then insist on giving an opportunity to the other deserving potential main eventers who have been held down by Reigns' holding the Raw and SmackDown top straps hostage, perhaps even going full Tony Khan and setting up a compelling tournament to crown the new blue or red belt holder, would instantly generate some much-needed post-Mania buzz for the weeks to come.
And that commodity alone has been all but non-existent over the painful last few years.
Why not even have Rhodes give into his nostalgic urges and finally have him go full-on winged eagle with his own strap, too. But dusting off a treasured memory of a title won't be enough to keep Rhodes himself from falling to the post-WrestleMania curse...
