How WWE MUST Respond To The Super ShowDown Disaster

One frustrating thing about The Undertaker vs. Goldberg: the match was actually pretty awesome before Bill knocked himself loopy on the post.

It looked like the former Universal Champion was going for the same shock and awe approach applied during his berzerk WrestleMania 34 sprint with Brock Lesnar. He cut through 'The Deadman' with a near-immediate Spear, then another, before 'Taker sat upright. An attempted Chokeslam kept the adrenaline pumping before Goldy went for his Matt Riddle-baiting kneebar. So far, so good... until Bill's 52-year-old head went between the turnbuckles and into the cold, hard steel supporting them.

It was a sad trainwreck from that moment on, with both legends getting dropped on their heads, a concussed Goldberg flubbing the intended finish, and a half-elevated Chokeslam bringing a sweet, merciful end. Disturbing footage of the former WCW bulldozer collapsing after the bell has since been released. Later, Bill apologised for what happened:-

That Goldberg knocked himself out explains most of the bout's failings, but not them all. For one, why was this thing booked to go longer than 4-5 minutes? Even in his prime, Bill was at his best in short, sharp bursts, yet the SSD runtime came in at 9:35.

Analysing this bout alone yields a number of big changes WWE must look at implementing the next time they hit Saudi Arabia.
