How WWE WrestleMania 35 MUST End
For all the ungainly unevenness of the women's Royal Rumble match (and the pay-per-view itself), WWE followed on from the 'January Classic' with two hugely powerful segments to enhance Becky Lynch's dramatic battle royal victory.
Getting her to these shows was really the biggest task at hand, particularly considering the huge risk they'd taken having her put over Asuka in Sunday's opener. 'The Man' was gotten-to for the first time since emboldening herself and embodying the new gimmick in the ring and on Twitter, and it wasn't thanks to 280 characters - only one. A rejuvenated 'Empress Of Tomorrow' forced her into tapping or snapping, and Lynch accepted her fate in a rare show of humility.
It was a gamble that already appears to have paid off.
Literally stumbling through the clunky booking of her Royal Rumble entry, Lynch went on to win the whole thing as the conquering hero, removing much of the memories of her earlier loss before the show had even finished. Any final flashbacks were fired into the sun by a white hot face-off with Ronda Rousey on the following evening's Raw and a typically testing tête-à-tête with Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live.
A singles match is currently on the graphic but a triple threat looms. It'll be the most organic three-way in WWE since Daniel Bryan had both Bella Twins hanging off his arms - but WWE could be missing a golden opportunity to cement everything they've gradually begun building towards since talk resumed on 'The Man' and 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet' going on last.
