How WWE's King Of The Ring 1995 Could've Been EVEN WORSE

Stop the pain!

The 1995 King Of The Ring remains arguably WWE's worst ever pay-per-view, but Bruce Prichard revealed on his 'Something To Wrestle With' podcast that it could've been even worse.

Fans were forced to sit through a mind-numbing display of booking decisions that included popular stars like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker being eliminated at the first hurdle. Then, to top it all off, Vince McMahon crowned awkward tag-team man Mabel the new 'King' and positioned him as Diesel's WWF Title challenger for SummerSlam.

So, was Mabel the original plan? Yes, as it turns out, and WWE wanted to push him harder than they did on the night. Instead of beating The Undertaker and Savio Vega (Mabel got a bye in the semi finals), the big man was initially scheduled to blast through 'Taker, Michaels and Razor Ramon.

That plan was only shelved when Razor was struck down by injury and forced from the card. He'll be glad of that, in retrospect, because the clumsy Mabel might've injured him anyway.

McMahon changed his mind on the mega-push and only (ha) had Mabel beat The Undertaker out of that threesome.
