Hulk Hogan's 6 WWE Championship Reigns Ranked From Worst To Best
3. WWE Championship (3rd) 24 March 1991 - 27 November 1991
In early 1991, Vince McMahon "took advantage" of the Gulf War to put the WWE Championship back on Hulk Hogan. At that year's Royal Rumble, Sgt. Slaughter dethroned then-champion The Ultimate Warrior in front of a p*ssed off audience.
The new heel champ had nuclear heat like perhaps no one before, to the point where he was forced to wait for hours to leave the arena safely.
At WrestleMania VII, Hulk Hogan (who had won the Royal Rumble) played the role of American hero against Slaughter, winning and capturing his third WWE Championship after a fun match.
Throughout his third reign, 'The Hulkster' continued to feud with Slaughter - which culminated at SummerSlam, where Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior defeated Slaughter, Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan in a Handicap Match.
Shortly after SummerSlam, Hogan began the program with The Undertaker, which eventually saw 'The Hulkster' lose the strap to 'The Deadman' at Survivor Series in November.
Looking back at 'The Hulkster's third run with the Heavyweight Championship, we can't say it wasn't good. However, business wa down from four or five years earlier, and some people were already growing sick of Hogan on top at this point.
