The picture above is enough to make this reign not just Hulk Hogan's best, but also was one of the best in the entire history of the WWE Championship.

On 23 January 1984, Hulk Hogan famously dropped the big leg on The Iron Sheik to capture his very first WWE Championship in MSG. Over the next few years, Hulkamania ran so wild that, eventually, it was taking the wrestling industry to a whole new level.

The following year, Vince McMahon used the momentum of Hulkamania to create his greatest event - WrestleMania. On the first edition, 'The Hulkster' teamed with Mr. T to defeat the heel team of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff.

After defeating King Kong Bundy in an overlooked steel cage match at WrestleMania 2, Hogan would eventually defeat Andre the Giant at the third edition, in a legendary match and moment still remembered to this day.

Less than a year after their 'Mania match, the two fought again at The Main Event, where Andre cheated to end 'The Hulkster's four-year reign as WWE Champion.

Looking back at this reign, it's impossible not to recognize the importance it had in the history of WWE and professional wrestling, making it one of the best title reigns of all time.
