If WWE Was Being Honest About The XFL

The XFL brand is toxic to football fans, roughly analogous to ingesting Tide Pods as a dumb non-trend to everybody else, and of absolutely no concern to WWE fans who might, out of curiosity, watch ten minutes just to get their burial likes in on Twitter.

Would Vince have relaunched the XFL, were All Elite Wrestling a thing in late 2017?

If WWE—Vince—was being honest about the XFL, he’d probably admit that he’s bored of his shiny new toy before he has even unboxed it. His new thing is NXT, and ensuring it kills the competition. And, if you believe the reports that he won’t interfere, you are ignoring history, just like Vince ignored 2001 in simply reviving the league in the first place.

The XFL will stretch his attention and workload, resulting in yet more ill thought-out decisions on the WWE side of his brain. Institutionally incapable of relinquishing full control—it’s clear that Paul Heyman thinks more of tag team wrestling than was shown on RAW—the XFL is nothing but a distraction that will arrive at a time at which Vince, who has never been more out of touch, will oversee more sports entertainment than ever before.

Something is about to create chaos, and it ain’t the f*cking St. Louis Battlehawks.
