Impact's Chris Sabin Interview: Hard To Kill, Bullet Club, Alex Shelley, AEW, And More
Obviously, you made your return to Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary. How did that all come about?
Sabin: I'd been working as a producer for Impact for a little while before that. So, you know, nothing in the ring, I was recovering from knee surgery. Scott D'Amore and I were talking about what would be the best idea for me to make my return, what should we do, did I have any ideas, did he have any ideas. Eventually, we came up with how it would be awesome if The Motor City Machine Guns came back. So, we both agreed that it would be great, and we talked to Alex Shelley, and he agreed. It just kind of developed from there.
How has it felt being back from those injuries?
Sabin: Yeah, great. It always sucks to be out. I mean, this is the third time I've been through it. You know, I've been through two knee surgeries already before this one so I'm used to it, I knew what to expect from the rehab and all that. Went in with an idea of how it was going to be, and knew I just had to keep myself motivated to come back as strong as possible.
You came back and ended The North's record-setting reign as World Tag Team Champions. What was that like, to win the titles in just your second match back?
Sabin: Yeah, it's great, especially since The Motor City Machine Guns only won the World Tag Team Championships once before that. So to be able to come back and win the titles in our second match back on a return, yeah, it was a big deal. It was really cool.
