It’s Official: The Supernatural Has No Place In WWE

Here's the objective part: the supernatural oeuvre makes no sense whatsoever in the context of WWE. WWE makes little sense in its own context, of course, what with there being no main event scheduled on most given weeks, the results very rarely informing the future direction, the impeccably behaved zombie lumberjacks. But it should.

On this week's RAW, Alexa Bliss in a match with Nia Jax cut off an interfering Reginald by appearing to control his mind. Anything she did, he seemed to mimic involuntarily. It's a good job this scene didn't play out in 2018, when Alexa was playing a clichéd body-shaming bully character, because Reginald's chances of getting his hole would have drastically decreased. Where was Lilly in 2018, incidentally? The doll has always been a part of Alexa's life, but she also hasn't, since they make this sh*t up as they go along. Nia Jax stopped Alexa in her tracks, and Alexa laughed and walked away. Is there a limit to her voodoo? Or is this just some bullsh*t with no internal logic whatsoever?

This of course followed a scene that would have become infamous, if fake, putrid bullsh*t wasn't the normal standard at which most simply shrug. Shayna Baszler, adamant that Lilly was "just a doll," last week stamped on the doll. The doll did not take too kindly to this, and frightened her away by creating some explosions. In the backstage area to which Shayna fled, Lilly almost killed her - to reiterate this important point, Lilly almost killed her - by controlling and hurtling various objects that Shayna narrowly avoided. The June 6, 2021 RAW went off the air to the sound of Shayna's bloodcurdling scream. As it turns out, this feud, for f*ck's sake, went 50/50. Shayna Baszler went 50/50 with a doll; Shayna is set to return on Sunday, and Lilly has been placed in "time out".

The implication, just to reiterate this once more, is that Shayna narrowly avoided being murdered.

Shouldn't every other wrestler on RAW be sh*tting themselves in fright?
