Jack King's 10 Favourite WWE Matches Of All Time
1. The Rock Vs. Steve Austin - WrestleMania 17
The Rock vs. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is many things. It's (arguably) the end of the Attitude Era; it's the second in a magnificent trilogy of WrestleMania matches between the pair; it's one of the most dramatic WrestleMania moments of all time - and it's an excellent contest to boot.
Most of all, it's a perfect combination of intense storytelling and incredible wrestling ability - perhaps the perfect WWE match. The climactic swerve has since been hotly debated, but capped off a wonderfully-written turn for Austin, who went on to portray a fantastically paranoid heel champion.
The match itself saw momentum swing from Stone Cold to Rock in masterful fashion, each going all-out to deliver the match of their lives. It really must be seen to be fully appreciated, and if you're a newer fan of wrestling, I'd urge you to go back and watch it quickly!
Hidden Highlight: Austin's use of the Million Dollar Dream (his old submission move) is a fantastic piece of foreshadowing, and an insight into the heelish depths he's willing to plumb.
