Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that one Jacob Fatu will return to WWE screens imminently. Previously, the 'Samoan Werewolf' was written off screens on SmackDown in October so he could go and get an unspecified dental procedure done. That meant he was posted missing come the main event WarGames match at this past weekend's Survivor Series PLE.

Originally, Fatu was going to be part of the babyface squad for that bout.

PWInsider's sources inside the company tell them that Jacob "could be back on the road for the company in the next few weeks". That'd be a huge boost for SmackDown. Fatu might've cooled off significantly in recent months following a lacklustre United States Title reign, but he has the intensity and popularity with fans to make a revenge story compelling.

Arguably, that intensity would've been handy during WarGames. Other outlets have claimed that Jacob would've replaced Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series - his feud with Drew McIntyre was pushed up a month or so to plug a hole once Fatu told WWE chiefs he had to get some things fixed with his teeth.

There's no word on exactly when Fatu will show back up, but it could be anytime. He's reportedly raring to go, so don't rule out seeing the 'Werewolf' do his thing on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

WWE Still Has To Tie Up 'Whodunit' Story

WWE put a temporary red pen through Jacob's name on the 17 October edition of SmackDown. There, he was shown bleeding from the mouth backstage and screaming in pain as medics worked on him. Immediately, attention from GM Nick Aldis and others turned to McIntyre, but the Scot palmed off allegations that he'd been responsible.

He surely was responsible, and Fatu will seek vengeance once he returns.

Fatu vs. Drew could produce quite the series of matches, if handled correctly. Seeing them compete in some kind of 'No DQ'/'Street Fight' gimmick bout would be a massive addition to the lineup for WWE's upcoming 13 December Saturday Night's Main Event card. That'll be framed around John Cena's retirement, but Triple H must know he has the chance to front load the show with some bangers elsewhere.

Fans online have opined that outing Cody as the mystery attacker and turning him heel would be smart, but that's less likely. McIntyre had motive to take Jacob out and clear the path towards a WWE Title shot, and that's presumably the story creative will go with soon.
