If the likes of Shawn Michaels, Daniel Bryan and Edge have taught the wrestling world anything, it’s that injury-enforced retirements aren’t always as permanent as they may at first seem.

According to Chad Gable, we may well be able to add Jason Jordan to the list of stars who’ve managed to overcome huge odds to make an in-ring return.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump – as picked up on by WrestlingINC - Gable detailed how his former American Alpha tag team partner is currently “working on it and trying to get back” to action following neck issues that seemed to call time on Jordan’s in-ring career.

After discussing how proud he is of the work that American Alpha served up in NXT and beyond, the Olympian talked about how he and Jason became best friends during their run together – and Gable credits his buddy with helping him to make it to the WWE main roster.

As for Jason Jordan working towards a return to action, Chad said:

“It’s unfortunate what happened to him with his injury. But you never say. He’s working on it and trying to get back. Who knows, they’re always a chance at a reunion, and that’s something I’d never be against.”

Shortly after being revealed to be the son of Kurt Angle, Jordan was written off WWE TV in February 2018 to undergo neck surgery that was thought would to initially keep him out of action for a year. In September ’18, the three-time Tag Team Champion took up a position as a backstage producer – which is a role he still occupies to this day.

At 32 years of age, there’s still plenty left in the tank of Jason Jordan, and WWE was clearly grooming him to be a bona fide main event player for years to come before his career was sadly cut short.

If Jordan came somehow get cleared for a comeback, though, WWE would have a major in-ring asset on their hands once more.
