The past 24 hours have finally brought clarity to the case of Jay White's wrestling future, as 'Switchblade' returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling during yesterday's Road to the New Beginning show in Korakuen Hall.

White jumped Tomohiro Ishii after the CHAOS man had led stablemates Kazuchika Okada and Toru Yano to victory over Bullet Club's Yujiro Takahashi, EVIL, and Dick Togo. Ishii previously pinned White at New Year Dash on 6 January, which was teased as Jay's last match with the promotion after he'd claimed as much in an impassioned post-Wrestle Kingdom 15 promo, sparking speculation on his future.

This all went down just a few hours after WWE Royal Rumble 2021. 'Switchblade' had been linked with a move to the world's biggest wrestling promotion, with the titular men's match a potential debut spot.

White has now hit Twitter to seemingly confirm that is is still bound by a seven-year NJPW contract signed back in 2018:-

The whole deal was a well-played work. That White's future was genuinely in question after his post-WK promo shows its effectiveness, though it looks like he'll now be sticking with the Lion Mark until 2025 at least.
